Terms of service

These terms apply when you order a keyguard from ATKeys. ATKeys is a brand of Fermium Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 12425065), with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ. You can reach us at hello@atkeys.com. By placing an order you agree to these terms.

What we make

We make custom keyguards for AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) apps. You upload a screenshot of your app and choose your iPad model, and we manufacture a keyguard to match that layout.

Your order

You are responsible for the design you submit, including the screenshot, the iPad model you select, and any adjustments you make in the editor. We build to the design you approve, so please check it carefully and use the paper test before you order. A contract forms between us when your payment is confirmed and we accept your order. We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order, including because of limited production capacity. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we will refund you in full.

Price and payment

Prices are shown on the site at the point of order. Our current launch price is £10 per keyguard with UK shipping included. Payment is taken securely through Stripe; we do not see or store your full card details. We may change prices at any time, but changes do not affect orders we have already accepted.

Making and delivery

We aim to manufacture your keyguard within 48 hours, then dispatch it on a 24-hour UK courier service. These are targets, not guarantees: orders can take longer at busy times, and final delivery also depends on the courier. We currently ship to UK addresses only.

Cancellations and refunds

Because each keyguard is made to your specification, the standard distance-selling cancellation right does not apply once production has started. Faulty or incorrect items are covered by our refunds policy and by your statutory rights. Please read that policy for the full detail.

Your content and our rights

You keep ownership of the screenshots and designs you upload. You grant us a licence to use them to produce and deliver your order, to provide support, and to develop and improve our service, including training and improving the machine learning models that generate keyguard layouts. You confirm that you are allowed to upload the content and that doing so does not break anyone else's rights. The ATKeys name, logo, website, and software remain our property.

Suitability and safe use

A keyguard is a physical accessory placed over a tablet screen. It is not a medical device and we make no clinical claims about it. You are responsible for checking that the fit and design suit the user. If you have any doubt about safety or suitability, speak to a qualified speech and language therapist (SLT), occupational therapist, or assistive technology professional.

Our liability

We provide our products and site with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for losses that are not reasonably foreseeable, or for problems caused by a design or measurement you supplied. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under law, and your statutory rights are not affected.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
