Privacy policy

Last updated 30 June 2026

This policy explains what personal data ATKeys collects, how we use it, and the rights you have. ATKeys is a brand of Fermium Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 12425065), with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ. Fermium Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. You can contact us about privacy at hello@atkeys.com.

What we collect

  • The screenshot you upload and the keyguard layout you create, so we can manufacture your order and improve the models that generate keyguard layouts.
  • Your email address, your delivery address, and the details of what you ordered.
  • Payment data, which Stripe handles. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and limited details such as the last four digits of a card, but we never see or store your full card number.
  • A session identifier and basic information your browser sends, stored to keep your design available while you work on it.

How we use it

  • to make and deliver your keyguard;
  • to take payment and prevent fraud, through Stripe;
  • to send you order updates and respond to support requests;
  • to develop and improve our service, including training and improving the machine learning models that generate keyguard layouts;
  • to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Legal bases

We process your data to perform our contract with you (making and delivering your order), to meet legal obligations (such as keeping tax records), and for our legitimate interests in running and improving the service and keeping it secure. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Stripe, for payment processing;
  • Supabase and our hosting providers, for storing order and design data;
  • our email provider, for sending order and support messages;
  • manufacturing and courier partners, to produce and deliver your keyguard.

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.

Storage and retention

We keep your order and design data for as long as needed to fulfil your order, provide support, and meet our legal obligations, after which we delete or anonymise it. If you would like us to remove your uploaded design sooner, email us and we will do so where we are not required to keep it.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the UK addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, so your data keeps an equivalent level of protection.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the data we hold about you;
  • correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete data, or restrict or object to how we use it;
  • provide your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these, email hello@atkeys.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Children and AAC users

Many AAC users are children or adults supported by a parent or carer. If you place an order or upload data on someone else's behalf, please make sure you have the authority to do so. We only use the data to fulfil the order.

Cookies and local storage

We use a small amount of browser storage to keep your session and your in-progress design. Our payment provider may set cookies needed to process payments securely. We do not use advertising trackers.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time and will post the new version here. For any privacy question or request, email hello@atkeys.com.
